Getting started

I've never played Cassino. Where do I start?

Start with How to Play or the guided tutorial in the app. Practice lessons let you focus on one mechanic at a time. See the full rules for detailed examples.

Can I play without an internet connection?

Yes. Matches against the computer can be played offline. Online matches use Apple's Game Center and need a connection to send and receive turns.

How many people can play?

Against the computer, choose two, three, or four players, or two teams of two. Online matches are two players through Game Center.

Online play

How do I play a friend online?

Sign in to Game Center in your iPhone's Settings, then start an online match in Cassinito and choose Invite a Friend. Find an Opponent offers matchmaking instead.

Online matches are turn-based, so you do not need to keep the app open together.

My online match hasn't updated. What should I try?

Check your connection and confirm that you are signed in to the expected Game Center account. Return to the match list and reopen the match. Your opponent may simply still be taking their turn.

If the problem continues, keep the match and note any message you see. Avoid deleting it while troubleshooting.

Rules and moves

Why can't I trail this card?

In Modern, you cannot trail while you own a build. You must keep a card that can capture it. Choose a capture or build instead. In Dominican, if your played card matches loose cards on the table, capture all of those matches or make a build instead. You cannot trail that card.

The build rules explain the restrictions with examples.

Does a sweep on the last play count?

In Modern, yes. A capture that clears the table earns a sweep point, including on the last play of a round. Collecting leftover cards at the end does not count as a sweep. Classic and Royal Casino do not score sweeps; Dominican cancels opposing sweeps.

Can I choose different rules?

Start from Modern, Classic, Royal Casino, or Dominican, then use Customize Rules to adjust the match. The existing rules and target choices are free. Dominican supports two players or two teams of two.

Online, matchmaking uses presets. Custom rules are available for invited matches, and your opponent sees them before their first play. See the preset guide.

How do hints work?

In a computer match, Hint selects a recommended move for you. Free players get one useful new recommendation per match, across all rounds. Forced plays, trail-only guidance, and hints already shown for the same position stay free. Reopening the match or using Undo does not reset the allowance.

Deluxe includes unlimited computer hints. Online matches have no hints.

Can I take a move back?

Free players get one eligible undo per computer match. It takes back your play and the computer replies after it. You must wait for your turn, stay within the current round, and still be in an unfinished match.

Deluxe allows repeated undos within those limits. Online matches have no take-backs.

Deluxe

Do I need Deluxe to play?

No. Computer matches against Casual, online play, the tutorial, and Practice are free. Deluxe adds more computer intelligence levels, appearances, and full computer match review. Compare Free and Deluxe.

How do I restore a Deluxe purchase?

Open Settings in Cassinito, tap Unlock Deluxe, then choose Restore Purchases. Sign in with the Apple Account that bought Deluxe. If Deluxe is already unlocked, the Settings row reads Cassinito Deluxe.
